Maurlia Upchurch, PharmD

Maurlia Upchurch "Lia" is a fellow completing a GSK Medical Affairs fellowship conjunction with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During the first year of fellowship, she has conducted many clinical research projects focused on implementation science to implement systemic interventions to improve oral chemotherapy adherence. Lia has recently returned from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with her team working to implement a national pediatric registry. Projects during the fellowship have spanned from implementing interventions in the clinical setting at UNC's Lineberger Cancer Institute to global health initiatives to increase cancer control/ care quality. During fellowship she has had the opportunity to present research at conferences such as American Hematologic Society (ASH) and Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association (ASH), and has had the opportunity to author papers about improving oral chemotherapy adherence in hematologic cancers .

Lia will transition to the GSK Oncology team during summer of 2024.
