PGY2 oncology pharmacy resident

My name is Devan Parker and I am the current PGY2 oncology pharmacy resident at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. I earned my Pharm.D. at Samford University's McWhorter School of Pharmacy in 2022 and completed my PGY1 residency at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama. I am interested in inpatient or outpatient hematology oncology and outpatient clinical specialist (solid and hematological oncology). My short term career goals are to complete my PGY2 oncology residency year and obtain a job as a clinical oncology pharmacist at a large academic medical center. I enjoy providing lectures and mentoring and co-precepting students and residents. Oncology is a rapidly evolving field and learning constantly about new therapies and cutting edge technologies, and also making impactful evidence-based decisions to support patients through the most difficult time of their lives provides a special meaning to my career as a pharmacist.
